Calendário Discovering Stenton House Museum & Garden Calendar
One cannot fully celebrate America’s 250th year of declared independence without visiting Philadelphia—and no visit is complete without experiencing the Stenton House Museum and Garden. Built between 1723 and 1730, Stenton was the country residence of James Logan, Philadelphia’s 14th mayor, and later served as headquarters to both General George Washington and British General Sir William Howe leading up to the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Germantown in 1777.
Today, Stenton’s well-preserved American Georgian architecture and flourishing gardens form a living bridge between past and present. Once a plantation, the site now stands as a place of reflection, learning, and community—a sanctuary where history is not only remembered but thoughtfully reexamined. Through educational programs and the quiet beauty of its grounds, Stenton invites visitors to connect with the land, with one another, and with the stories that shaped the nation.
Stroll among blooms of dogwood, daffodil, bluebells, wisteria, peony, columbine, false indigo, magnolia, fern, buttonbush, coneflower, golden ragwort, and more. Here, the garden reclaims the landscape in a tapestry of greens, yellows, purples, and seasonal reds and whites—an expression of renewal that acknowledges the past while looking forward. In this balance of history and nature, Stenton endures as a Philadelphia treasure, open to all. Let this calendar be your introduction to the beauty that is Stenton Garden.
