【Goshichinokiri】Kiri crest / The Kiri crest was second only to the Kiku crest in authority. Among the Kiri crests, Goshichi no kiri was probably considered the crest of the Imperial Family at the end of the Kamakura period. It appears that it was granted by the Imperial Family to the Ashikaga clan, and further to Oda Nobunaga and Hashiba Hideyoshi. Later, including those who used it inappropriately, the Kiri crest became widespread.
