Madonna and Child Enthroned Jean Fouquet Holiday Christmas Card ... My great grandfather Roswell Evans Johnson's grandmother Amelia Jane Fuqua Johnson was a direct descendant of French ancestor Jean Fouquet, Court Painter to Kings Charles VII and (his son) Louis XI. It was King Charles VII whose throne was saved by Saint Joan of Arc. It is supposed that my ancestor Jean Fouquet most likely had seen Saint Joan of Arc when he was younger and this is actually depicted in a movie about Jean Fouquet as a child showing Joan of Arc riding past him and other children as he grew up near the location that she would have ridden to and from seeing the king. I wish he had painted her ... or that such a painting might yet be found. It is not impossible. I hope you love this.
