Black Hole Accretion Disk

A black hole accretion disk spins in the depths of interstellar space in this NASA illustration. Gravity distorts the view, warping the surroundings of black hole to produce this distorted view of glowing gases orbiting the infinite gravity of the hole itself. Nothing, even light, can escape the singularity once pulled-in. Scientists theorize that spinning black holes can form worm holes with possible transportation to other universes or different times. Many galaxies have supermassive black holes at their centers, some of which feed on stars as well as cosmic dust and gas.
