These images are featured in Vannak's book, "The Dead Eye and the Deep Blue Sea: The World of Slavery at Sea-A Graphic Memoir". They tell the story of his time as a slave working in the Thai fishing industry and as a farm worker in Singapore, his escape and reunification with his family, and the art that kept his spirit alive and allows him to share his story.
