Kennet & Avon Canal

Please note: To cover the whole of the Oxford Canal it has been necessary to split the 'route map' in to 4 'sets' numbered as 1 of 4, 2 of 4, 3 of 4, 4 of 4. Each 'set' comes in different colors; yellow, red, blue and green. The Oxford Canal is a 78-mile-long (126 km) narrow canal in central England linking Oxford with Coventry via Banbury and Rugby. The canal connects with the River Thames at Oxford, the Grand Union Canal at the villages of Braunston and Napton-on-the-Hill, and to the Coventry Canal at Hawkesbury Junction in Bedworth, which is just north of Coventry. The Oxford Canal mainly passes through the Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire countryside. The Canal is considered by many to be one of the most scenic canals in Britain. In days of old, the Oxford Canal was an important artery of trade between the English Midlands and London. Today the Oxford Canal is now highly popular among pleasure boaters.
