New! Typographic Thanksgiving Day Initial Shields

Here, the words Thanksgiving Day are rendered in an elegant black type with the initials “T” and "D” placed, respectively, upon red and blue shields. At Saints_Aplenty, we can’t help wondering if the typographer had the words of the Psalmist in mind when placing the initials on the shields. The design seems to recall Psalm 90:4 or 91:4 (depending on your denomination, Catholic or Protestant) that asserts God’s faithfulness or truthfulness will be your buckler and your shield. Shield symbolism is often invoked in Christian prayers expressing thankfulness for God’s protectiveness. Whether deliberate or a happy accident, this design, which has a slightly more modern ‘feel’ to it than our Leafy Typographic and Red Letter mini collections, is especially apropos for items celebrating the beloved Thanksgiving holiday!
