Pink St. Agatha (M 003): A Special COLLECTION

St. Agatha of Sicily (c. 231-251) is one of the most highly venerated early Christian virgin martyrs. Denounced as a Christian by a spurned suitor during the Decian persecution, she was subjected to sexual assault and had her breasts cut off with pincers before being rolled naked over broken pottery shards and burning coals. For these reasons, she has become the religious poster child for rape victims and breast cancer patients. + Feast: February 5 + For more information, see catholicsaints.info/saint-agatha-of-sicily/ + In this detail from a famous painting, her garments have been changed from cream and light teal to shades of pink. Pink is the internationally recognized color symbolic of breast cancer awareness. + Ranging from lightest to darkest, the Pink St. Agatha palette consists of #F1D9F0, #F0CAEF, #ED9AC2, and #DB6785. Where applicable, maroon shades (#96475C or #73001F) provide contrasting text.
