Shaw Clan's Famous Doune Castle, Stirling Scotland

The Scottish Shaws can trace their family back into the mists of time, before their land became Scotland, and estimates of when the modern Shaw story began vary. Tradition credits a marriage and the passage of land from a MacIntosh to a Shaw as the beginning. Today's TV audience of "Game of Thrones" will recognize the Shaws' Doune Castle. The Shaws (it is never Clan Shaw in Gaelic) share a common background with the Clan Mackintosh and were a principal family in the Clan Chattan Confederation of tribes. In 1567, Iain Grant of Freuchie purchased the original Shaw property, and the Grants continued to hold the property for centuries. Clan Castles has designed a variety of products: puzzles, t-shirts, mugs, pillows, tote bags, and trinket trays featuring photographs of Doune Castle in very different moods. To all, the castle and clan names have been added to these products suitable as gifts and keepsakes for people who love their Scottish Shaw heritage. #scotland #scottish #customgifts #scottishgiftshop #personalizedgifts #scotlandxmas #scottishChristmas
