In this image, a cutting probably from an antique nineteenth-century Lives of the Saints book, St. Barbara of Nicomedia (3rd-4th century) is depicted with another of her attributes: a cannon and cannonball pyramid. St. Barbara is patron of field artillery and artillerymen.
