St. Emerentiana of Rome COLLECTION (SAU 36)

A few days after the martyrdom of her better-known foster-sister, St. Emerentiana was stoned to death at St. Agnes’s tomb; hence, her attribute: a lapful of stones; and, her patronage: stomach ailments. + St. Emerentiana appears in the late 19th-century novel 'Fabiola Or The Church Of The Catacombs' by Nicholas Cardinal Wiseman. In it, St. Emerentiana is a minor character alongside the much more famous saints Agnes, Sebastian, and, of course, Fabiola herself. + Feast: January 23
