The O Come, O Come, EMMANUEL Collection

This COLLECTION embodies the very spirit of the Advent season: welcoming Jesus into your home and heart at Christmas. Here, a young Jesus, seated upon His straw-filled manger, wears a white robe decorated with a gold cross and stars. At the center of the cross on His chest is a quatrefoil containing the IHS, one of several Greek monograms for His name. He raises His right hand in blessing and holds the Christmas tree upright in His left. He is personally delivering a candle-lit Christmas tree to a home that has prepared for His coming from a cart being pulled by a sprightly white lamb. Where present, the words “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” taken from the popular Advent hymn, express a longing for the arrival of the Messiah. The hymn, translated from the Latin, is a synthesis of the great “O Antiphons” recited at Vespers the week before Christmas.
