Crisis Resuscitation Cards are designed for any healthcare provider that may find themselves stuck in a room with a critically ill patient and without access to resources. The Wifi and cell signal are terrible/nonexistent, the pharmacist has gone home for the night, they were only able to staff 2 nurses for a 20 bed ED, both your hands are occupied holding bimanual pressure on a boggy uterus. Whatever the case, these quick reference cards are meant to be a lifeline in the first five minutes of any resuscitation, especially the ones that are low frequency and high acuity. We've also included checklist cards for high-stakes situations such as intubation where a single missed component can be disastrous. As a graduating ER resident, I started making these cards in order to prepare for a job with fewer resources and greater responsibility. I may not know the bolus dose and rate of third line medication for refractory vfib, but my card does.
