Welcome to Dixon Hill Design, the surface pattern design studio created by me, Becky Redett. As a surface pattern designer, I create artwork in a seamless and technical pattern repeat so that it can be applied to a variety of surfaces- from fabric, wallpaper, notebooks, cell phone cases, wrapping paper, and many other goods. Most of my designs are inspired by the various things I see anywhere and everywhere, but especially while outside. I enjoy bicycling and walking, where there is always a lot to look at. A single flower, tree, or smooth pebbles can inspire a whole set of designs. My designs tend to be bright, colorful, and based in nature. The creativity of surface pattern design, knowing that an idea will evolve quite differently from initially imagined, is what makes it so fun and enjoyable.
