Innovative guitar melodies and hooks hit your senses, combined with powerful and soulful vocals. Bobby Doran's music finds a way to pull at your imagination with honest, often sarcastic, heartfelt lyrics, touching on subject matter spawned from true-life experiences. What some may consider to be taboo, Bobby Doran will spill onto a canvas of sound, anchored by infectious grooves, set to rattle in your head for days! "I do my best to write the music I've always wanted to hear...just a songwriter trying to be honest with what I want to sing about, and reflect my personality into the cast of characters that find their way into the stories. If I'm lucky enough for the listener to have that light bulb flicker in their head; have them see a relation in one of the lines; something they've been through; a person they know, or wish they'd never met, etc., I guess that's what any artist only hopes will happen! Staying real, and staying human can be tantalizing if you set it to music. That's what I'm trying to capture the most in this next album." Bobby Doran's live show is a 'must-see'. Aside from pouring his soul out through his guitar playing and vocals for original tunes, he is known for his live, guitar looping. With one guitar and some fancy footwork, you go from hearing one guitar part, to two, then three, you suddenly hear bass guitar, even drum beats and soloing. The audience is captured by watching the layering of guitar parts into full songs. Some noted loops of cover songs include: "Closer"(Nine Inch Nails), "Sober"(Tool), "No Rest For the Wicked"(Cage the Elephant), "With Or Without You"(U2), and an unconventional cover of "Forgot About Dre"(Dr. Dre/Eminem). A very cool change of pace from the set of originals. Bobby has traveled nationwide, promoting his music from New York to Los Angeles, playing everything from colleges, clus, coffeehouses, benefits, and even house parties. He was recognized by the Pikes Peak Arts Association for a perfomer of the year nomination, has shared the stage with national acts, including Mason Jennings and Teitur. Bobby has also been fortunate enough to become involved in a 'Rescue On the Rocks' concert, featuring Blues Traveler, and Michael Franti & Spearhead, at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Other benefit & charity events include "Cancer Research", "National Kidney Foundation", "Guitars for Life", "Kids Life Asia", "Katrina Relief" and "Rett Syndrome Research".
