The Real Democrat

I lost my mother in a COVID-19 hospital wing recently. She was in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's.Thus, the loss was bittersweet. She was released from this world, but I could not be with her when she left. I lost my father years ago. I lost him while serving in the military during the first Gulf War as an army psychologist. I have mourned both losses deeply. However, another loss is emerging. It almost seems as if we are losing the life we once knew. At least, from my perspective, we are living in a world I do not recognize . . . an almost silent echo of what once was. Others may debate this, but I know America, WE, can do better. My faith system tells me this is true. Whether we will do it, that is another story. However, we can raise our voices and demand that our government return to a semblance of normality in this next election. Let's "Make America What it Was" before we no longer recognize it on any level.
