DisabledUnion

Disabled Union is a coalition of disabled individuals, along with their partners, families, and allies, each of whom are dedicated to securing marriage equality for the disabled. Right now our access to benefits we depend on to survive are tied to excessive, inhumane, and Geneva-Convention-violating restrictions, locking us into lives 75% below the poverty line and restricting not only our ability to get married, but even to have basic human relationships so many others take for granted. For the vast majority of us, we not only can't get married, we can't even live with our loved ones. Others can't even date or have relationships of any kind. This is unfair, inhumane, unjust, and we're determined to end it so future generations of the disabled are no longer infantilized and denied basic human rights protected by international statutes.
