My Lil Freaks™

This is a series of artwork that directly reflects my true nature. I have never been the type to go for the obviously happy side of things. In fact, I am leery of people who are always overly happy, it seems fake to me for some reason? I enjoy the darker side of life, not to say that dark equates to evil, but I am more at ease when things are cloudy and gray. You would think that I would live somewhere where the sun doesn’t shine and where the weather is not so perfect. Unfortunately for my gloomy side, I live in California. It is a great state for opportunity and very diverse culturally, which I do love. But it leaves a lot to be desired for the vamp at heart. The main goal for creating My Lil Freaks™ art is to keep the creative side of me flowing. I love the little freaks I create because they’re like friends who have lived in my mind and now have materialized in the physical world. Often my freaks have zipped up/sown mouths, because I want the eyes to say everything. I don’t consider them evil, but very real extensions of my moods and feelings. Every freak has a story. The important thing to remember is, once you own a freak, it’s yours, mind, body and soul. They are real honest pieces of art that exude life, just the darker side, which we all travel to at some point.
